Super Bowl 46 Betting Odds

The Packers won the Super Bowl last season and the Patriots were on fire in the last part of the season before tripping up in the playoffs and Bodog has these two teams with the best betting odds to win the Super Bowl this next season at +700. I guess the books don’t think Cam Newton will make a huge first season splash in Carolina since the Panthers have the worst betting odds.

The Green Bay Packers (+700) won it all last season and they may even be better this season since RB Ryan Grant will be back from a knee injury and fellow RB James Starks came up big in the post-season and will get more carries in the regular season to help out Aaron Rodgers. Green Bay had a solid defense last season, but they could use some help stopping the run.

The New England Patriots (+700) had not problems on offense last season led by Tom Brady, but their defense was and is a concern. While they took OT Nate Solder in the first round of the draft they used the top pick in the second round to take CB Ras-I Dowling. The young defense has talent, but they need to step up this season, especially defending the pass.

The Pittsburgh Steelers (+1000) came up just short last season and this season they hope Big Ben can stay healthy. The Pittsburgh defense was the strength of the team and that will not change this season. They used 2 of their top 3 draft picks to take defensive players.

The San Diego Chargers (+1200) with the fourth best odds? San Diego ranked well, in terms of stats, on both offense and defense, but a key this season is that they will need RB Ryan Mathews to stay healthy. They took a couple of defensive players with their first 2 draft picks and they could use some WR help for QB Phillip Rivers.

The Atlanta Falcons (+1400) made a huge draft splash by trading a ton of picks to move up and take WR Julio Jones. Matt Ryan with Roddy White and Jones will be tough to stop through the air, but they need their defense, especially against the pass, to play better than last season and they will need another solid campaign from RB Michael Turner.

The Philadelphia Eagles (+1500) are in the tough NFC East, but Michael Vick leads a dynamic young offense with WR’s Jeremy Maclin and DeSean Jackson. OG Danny Watkins was a solid first round pick, as he will help keep Vick off his butt. The Eagles have an aging secondary and in the NFC East they will have to play solid D against the pass.

Other teams that have good odds and have the teams to make a Super Bowl run are the Ravens (+1400), Saints (+1400), Colts (+1500), and Jets (+1500).

Here are the odds at Bodog to win the Super Bowl as of May 8th.
