Sportsbook.com Posts Odds to Win Super Bowl XLIV
The 2010 Super Bowl is still a couple of months away, but that doesn't mean that you can't lays some bets on who will win SuperBowl 44. One of the top online sports betting shops has posted the future betting lines on all 32 teams for this season's NFL Championship.
The Patriots are the early wagering favourite with an opening line of +350 or in other words you'd make a profit of $350 for every $100 that you bet on them to win this year's SB. While some of the more square bettors will jump on the New England Patriots bandwagon, they really don't offer any value at the +350 line.
Sure Brady is back healthy after missing all but a few plays of the 2008 season and if he can stay out of the infirm they should be better. However if ends up on the injury report again this season the Patriots have no viable option at backup after trading away last Matt. Cassels. They did strengthen the secondary with the additions of CB's Shawn Springs and Leigh Bodden, but the linebacking crew is still a weak spot. Toss in the fact that the AFC east on paper looks stronger this season we feel that the Patriots will be tooth and nail to even make the post season
If you're looking for some value in betting on who will win the Super Bowl we think that last season's Super Bowl winner, the Pittsburgh Steelers offer good wagering value at +1000. While yes it is always extremely tough to repeat as champions in the National Football League they do return 20 of 22 starters in 2010 and have an easier schedule than they did last season. A few other teams offering some bang for your buck are the New Orleans Saints at +2000 and the Philadelphia Eagles at +1200.
The Saints have beefed up their defence in the offseason and should have an easier go in divisional play with Buccaneers (No QB) and the Falcons (overachievers last season).
The Eagles grabbed Pro Bowl LT Jason. Peters before the draft which should do wonders for shoring up their OL which was a weakness in 2008 and added needed depth to their receiving corps drafting WR Jeremy Maclin.
