Odds To Win 2012 BCS Championship

Oklahoma has the lowest odds at 5Dimes to win the BCS title this season, but other teams will be in the mix. One thing that is interesting, as with the new look conferences of the Pac 12, Big 12, and Big 10 the BCS picture may change with some more premier match ups in the major conferences.

Oklahoma
Odds: +400

The Sooners are picked by many to win it all next season, and not just by the sportsbooks, as their defense should be the best on the Big 12, if not the nation, and they return record-setting QB Landry Jones. In their 3rd game of the season they play host to another BCS title contender in Florida State and that will be a HUGE test.

Alabama
Odds: +600

The Crimson Tide did lose QB Greg McElroy, RB Mark Ingram and WR Julio Jones to the NFL, but Alabama should still have a great defense and that will be their major strength. Still, the Tide will need proven play from new players at the skill positions and they play a killer schedule facing Penn State, Florida, and Auburn on the road.

Oregon
Odds: +1000

Can any team keep Oregon from scoring a ton of points? They had the best offense in the nation last season and this next season their offense returns 6 starters including RB LaMichael James, who finished 2nd in the Heisman voting. The defense is the issue, as they lost 6 starters, but if they score 50 points a game will that matter? They face both Stanford and Arizona on the road and their season opening game against LSU at a neutral site will be big test.

Florida State
Odds: +1200

The Seminoles have a big early season test at Oklahoma, but even though they lost Christian Ponder to the NFL they return 8 starters on defense and 8 starters on offense.

LSU
Odds: +1400

Even though the Tigers lost DB Patrick Peterson to the NFL the LSU defense may be even better this season with the emergence of stars in the making in Ryan Baker and Morris Claiborne. There has not been a legit QB in Baton Rouge since JeMarcus Russell, but with Zach Mettenberger under center that may change this season. Their game against Oregon early in the season at a neutral site is one that has major BCS implications.
